No mystery boxes

Most hosts will not tell you what silicon you are renting. Here is ours, in full.

Specification

This is the whole machine. Not a range, not an "up to", not an average across a fleet you will never see. Every plan on the site runs on exactly this. Opening soon — grab a slot in Discord.
ProcessorAMD Ryzen 5 3600X — 6 cores, up to 4.4 GHz
Memory32 GB. Your plan's share is a hard limit, so nothing else can eat into it
StorageNVMe solid state on every plan, free included. Two drives, each a copy of the other
Connection500 Mbit/s, unlimited traffic, with attack filtering included
LocationVirginia, United States
SharingNone. Your slice is walled off and the limits are enforced
OversellingNot on paid plans. Free servers sleep when empty, which is what makes them free

That is the whole machine. When it is full we stop selling until there is another one — which is the part most hosts leave out.

A desktop chip, on purpose

Minecraft does most of its thinking in one place rather than spreading it out, so it likes a processor that is quick per core more than one with a huge core count. This is a modern desktop part rather than an ancient server chip with sixty slow threads, which is what the game actually wants.

What "dedicated" means

Every plan runs the same processor at the same speed. Going up the range buys you room to run more world at once, and on Blizzard it also buys cores that are only ever yours — two whole ones, pinned, with no other customer scheduled on top. That removes the small stutters that come from sharing, but it does not make the chip faster. Nobody can sell you that.

Fast storage on every plan

NVMe throughout, including the free plan. Loading a new area of the world is mostly a disk job, so slow storage shows up as a stutter every time somebody explores somewhere new. We would rather not have that on any plan. There are two drives and each is a copy of the other, so your world is written to both at once.

Virginia, on the US east coast. About as central as one location gets for North American players, and a comfortable hop from western Europe. You always know exactly where your world is.
What that gets you

Why this beats a slice of a mystery machine

Knowing the machine is the point. Here is what follows from it.

You get a person who knows your server.#

Small on purpose. There is no ticket queue and no first-line script — you message us and you reach somebody who can open a console and look. Most things get sorted in one reply, the same evening.

Built for where your players are.#

Virginia, on the US east coast, which is about as central as one location gets for North America and still comfortable from western Europe. Your players connect to a machine sitting on a fast network, not to whichever box a reseller had spare.

What you buy is what you get.#

We sell the memory and the storage the machine actually has, and not a megabyte more. Nobody is squeezed in on top of you at the end of the month to hit a number. If a plan is sold out we will tell you it is sold out.

See for yourself

The free plan uses exactly the same processor. Make one and see for yourself.
